Christopher Vogler Returns to London

In the mid eighties Christopher Vogler, then working as a storyVogler2010 consultant for Disney, wrote a memo - A Practical Guide to the Hero With a Thousand Faces - that soon spread through the industry like wildfire.

The memo, based on the works of Joseph Campbell did exactly what it said, taking the academic language of Campbell's tome and turning it into a practical working resource for writers.

It's success convinced him to expand his ideas into a full book which became The Writer's Journey, one of the most influential and popular books on the art of screenwriting and storytelling.

Vogler has had a hand in developing the stories of films as diverse as The Lion King, Fight Club and The Wrestler and is one of the most sought after experts on story worldwide.

The Writer's Journey by Christopher Vogler has become one of the cornerstones of modern screenwriting theory. Based on an influential memo he wrote while working at the Disney studios, the book has been translated into eight languages and its ideas were promptly put to use by a whole generation of screenwriters and novelists. Meantime, as Vogler has worked on countless feature film projects as a consultant, writer, and producer, his concepts about myths and movies have continued to evolve.
